ICICI Bank overhauls fund management with key restructuring by April 2026
ICICI Bank has finalised a major internal restructuring of its fund management operations. The changes took effect on April 1, 2026, following regulatory approvals and formal agreements. The move consolidates key investment management services under ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited (IPru AMC).
The restructuring shifts private equity, venture capital, and real estate fund management from ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited to IPru AMC. Five specific funds are affected: India Advantage Fund S4 I, India Advantage Fund S5 I, India Advantage Fund S5 II, India Real Estate Investment Fund Series 2, and Iven Amplifi Fund.
Regulatory requirements under SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996, guided the process. These included securing SEBI's prior approval, holding a board meeting with independent director oversight, and filing disclosures with AMFI and stock exchanges. The bank also ensured no change in beneficial ownership without trustee consent and executed a compliant assignment agreement. The transfer was first announced on May 9, 2025, with further updates on March 2, 2026. All steps were completed by the April 1, 2026, deadline.
The completed transfer simplifies ICICI Bank's fund management structure. IPru AMC now oversees the identified funds, centralising operations within the bank's asset management platform. The restructuring aligns with the bank's long-term strategy to streamline its investment services.
