How a Bold Bet Turned Solbevi Into Australia's Hottest Canned Cocktail
A little over a year ago, Stefan Di Benedetto left a well-paid job to chase a bold dream. He poured his life savings into Solbevi, Australia's first canned limoncello spritz. Now, the brand is stocked in over 2,500 stores nationwide and served on major airlines like Qantas and Scoot. Di Benedetto launched Solbevi in August 2023, betting everything on a ready-to-drink limoncello spritz. The gamble paid off quickly. Within months, the drink was named the world's best liqueur by US Spirits Ratings.
Early success came from high-profile events. Solbevi was sold at the F1 Australian Grand Prix and multiple festivals, building a strong local following. A key moment arrived when Di Benedetto secured a distribution deal with Dan Murphy's, placing the product in nine of its stores.
The brand soon expanded beyond Australia. Solbevi now reaches customers in New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Airlines Qantas and Scoot also picked it up, offering the spritz as an onboard beverage.
Di Benedetto's ambition doesn't stop there. He aims to turn Solbevi into a global name, competing with established brands like Aperol and Campari. From a single product launch to international shelves, Solbevi has grown rapidly. The drink is now available in major retailers, on flights, and at events across multiple countries. Di Benedetto's risk has positioned the brand as a rising contender in the global spirits market.
