Goat Life secures Rs 2 crore on Shark Tank India with protein-packed oats

Goat Life, a startup selling high-protein instant oats, has secured Rs 2 crore in funding on Shark Tank India Season 5. Founded by 26-year-old Yash Kalra, the brand offers quick, protein-packed breakfasts that have caught the attention of investors and health-conscious consumers alike. The deal came after a competitive bidding round, reflecting the product's growing popularity in India's fast-moving food market.

Kalra launched Goat Life with an initial investment of Rs 5 lakh, building on his earlier venture, Wisegg—a ready-to-drink egg-white beverage that eventually shut down. His new startup focuses on instant oats, which can be prepared in just 30 seconds and come in flavours like mocha, tiramisu, and mango. Each serving contains between 10 to 20 grams of protein, appealing to fitness enthusiasts and busy professionals.

On the show, Kalra entered seeking Rs 36 lakh for 1% equity, valuing Goat Life at Rs 36 crore. Instead, he received two competing joint offers of Rs 2 crore for 8% equity, lowering the valuation to Rs 25 crore. Investors were impressed by the product's taste and branding, with Anupam Mittal calling it 'Yummy in my tummy' and Aman Gupta praising its youth-centric appeal, saying, 'Tu oats nahi bech raha, tu vibe bech raha hai.' Since its launch in July 2023, Goat Life has seen rapid growth, with sales rising by around 150% by mid-2025. The brand's success comes as India's protein-rich breakfast market expands, driven by urban millennials seeking convenient, healthy options. Competitors like Bagrry's and True Elements have also grown, helping the combined market reach over ₹500 crore by early 2026.

The Rs 2 crore investment will help Goat Life scale production and marketing as demand for protein-focused foods increases. Kalra's focus on Gen Z branding and quick-prep meals has set the startup apart in a crowded market. With rising health awareness and convenience trends, the company is positioned for further expansion in India's fast-growing food sector.
