From Bullied Teen to Celebrity Chef: Jojo Davis's Inspiring Rise

Chef Jojo Davis has built a name for herself in the culinary world, starting from a difficult childhood. At just 13, she turned to cooking as a way to handle bullying. Now, her success spans restaurants, celebrity clients, and a seasoning brand that supports cancer research. Davis left school at 16 to chase her dream of owning a restaurant. By the time she opened her first one, her high school Dean became one of her earliest customers. Her big break came in 2010 when she catered for Tyler Perry’s stage play cast, earning praise from Perry himself.

Over the years, she has worked with over 300 celebrity clients, including Toni Braxton, The Isley Brothers, and LL Cool J. Recently, she relaunched Jojo’s Seasoning, with plans to expand into cookware by 2026. Her seasoning brand also has a personal mission. A portion of the proceeds goes to cancer research, honouring her mother’s fight against HER2-positive stage 4 breast cancer.

Davis continues to grow her brand while giving back. The relaunch of Jojo’s Seasoning marks another step in her career, with a cookware line set for 2026. Her journey from a bullied teen to a celebrated chef remains tied to her family’s resilience.
