DesignCafe's Bold Expansion: 23 Stores and Counting After HomeLane Merger
DesignCafe has expanded rapidly over the past 18 months, increasing its retail presence by more than 50%. The company now operates 23 stores, up from 15, with plans to open 11 more in the current fiscal year. This growth follows its integration with HomeLane, which has driven a 30% rise in business.
The leadership team has also seen changes, with Co-founder Shezan Bhojani stepping back from day-to-day operations while expressing confidence in the company’s direction under CEO Gita Ramanan. DesignCafe’s expansion began after its merger with HomeLane, resulting in a 30% increase in overall growth. The company has since added eight new stores, bringing its total to 23 locations. Further plans include launching 11 additional outlets before the end of the fiscal year.
Gita Ramanan, Co-founder and CEO, will continue to lead the company. Shezan Bhojani, another Co-founder, will transition out of his operating role but remains supportive of the business. In a statement, Bhojani praised the team’s achievements and expressed confidence in Ramanan’s leadership for the next phase of growth.
The company’s leadership structure includes Swati Santani as SVP, overseeing product development, catalogue expansion, and new growth strategies. Anoop Krishnan serves as COO, managing day-to-day operations. Meanwhile, Srikanth Iyer and Tanuj Choudhry remain at the helm of HomeLane, ensuring continuity in that part of the business.
DesignCafe is currently on track to achieve 40% year-on-year growth in the ongoing fiscal period. The company attributes this progress to its expanded retail network and strengthened leadership team. With 23 stores already in operation and 11 more planned, DesignCafe’s retail footprint continues to grow. The company’s leadership changes and strategic expansion have positioned it for further increases in revenue. The current fiscal year remains on course for a projected 40% rise in business performance.
