Dell's AI boom sends revenue soaring 88% and stock to record highs
Dell Technologies has seen a dramatic surge in demand for its AI-related products. The company’s latest financial results reveal explosive growth, with first-quarter revenue climbing nearly 88% compared to last year. Investors responded strongly, pushing the stock up by roughly 32% in a single day—the largest one-day gain in its history. The first quarter proved exceptional for Dell, as AI server sales skyrocketed to $16.1 billion—a staggering 757% increase from the same period last year. Conventional server revenue also nearly doubled, while storage solutions recorded their fastest growth in three years. Adjusted earnings per share reached $4.86, far surpassing analysts’ expectations of $2.94.
The company has now raised its full-year revenue forecast, projecting around 50% annual growth. Even more striking, Dell’s AI revenue alone is expected to jump by 144%. The PC division also performed well, with operating margins nearing peak levels. Wall Street has taken notice. Susquehanna upgraded Dell to Positive and set a new price target of $700, up from $138. J.P. Morgan followed by lifting its target to $500 from $280, while Morgan Stanley admitted underestimating the company’s potential.
Dell’s financial results highlight a rapid shift toward AI-driven demand. The revised forecasts and soaring stock price reflect confidence in its growth trajectory. Analysts now see the company as a major player in the expanding AI infrastructure market.
