Cyprus Joins Europe's Largest Agrifood Network with Historic EIT Food Event

Cyprus will host its first EIT Food Activation Event on 25 May 2026 at the CYENS Centre of Excellence in Nicosia. The gathering aims to bring together key players in the agrifood sector, offering them access to funding, training, and collaboration opportunities across Europe. SocialTech Lab has been named the official EIT Food Country Representative for the island, taking on a central role in supporting local innovators. EIT Food, Europe’s largest agrifood innovation network, is expanding its reach into Cyprus. Backed by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the initiative helps startups, researchers, and businesses overcome challenges in scaling, funding, and market access.

SocialTech Lab will serve as the national link to EIT Food’s resources. Its responsibilities include coordinating outreach, delivering training programmes, and connecting stakeholders from academia, research, and industry. The organisation will also provide direct support, guiding Cypriot participants through application processes for European funding and partnerships.
