Chiratae Ventures Launches $2M Fast-Track Funding for Indian DeepTech Startups

Chiratae Ventures has launched Sonic DeepTech, a new fast-track funding programme for early-stage startups in frontier technologies. The initiative aims to support founders working on breakthrough innovations in sectors like energy, space, and artificial intelligence. Applications for the programme are now open to eligible entrepreneurs in India.

The Sonic DeepTech programme will invest between seed and Series A stages, offering up to $2 million per startup. A key feature is its rapid decision-making process, with funding choices made within 48 hours to speed up capital deployment. Founders accepted into the programme will also gain access to domain experts and industry partners, helping them move from lab development to commercial launch in India.

Chiratae Ventures has already invested over $200 million in more than 50 deeptech startups in India, including companies like Pixis, Miko, Agnikul, and Aether Biomedical. The firm manages over $1.3 billion across its funds and has backed over 130 startups in India since its inception, with notable early investments in Flipkart, Lenskart, and Myntra. Its portfolio now includes over 180 patent filings, with more than 130 patents granted in India.

The programme will focus on areas where India is aiming for global leadership, such as energy and climate, quantum technologies, robotics, space, applied AI, defence, bio and medtech, and the digital economy. Saharsh Sharma, Vice President of Investments at Chiratae Ventures, highlighted that India's next wave of leading companies will likely emerge from deeptech founders who blend research with strong product development skills in India.

Sonic DeepTech is designed to bridge the gap between innovation and funding for early-stage founders in India. The programme's quick evaluation process and industry support aim to accelerate the growth of startups in critical technology sectors in India. Chiratae Ventures continues to expand its role in backing high-potential deeptech ventures across India.
