Cameroon's PROXIGAB Platform Unlocks New Opportunities for Young Entrepreneurs

Cameroon has launched a new digital platform, PROXIGAB, to support small business ideas and young entrepreneurs. Led by Mme Gninga Chaning Zenaba, Minister of Commerce, SMEs, and Youth Entrepreneurship, the platform aims to connect entrepreneurs with funding, mentoring, and investment opportunities in a secure online space.

The idea for PROXIGAB emerged in 2023, developed by the Cameroonian government alongside the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA). Designed as a strategic tool, it seeks to organize the entrepreneurial ecosystem, boost project visibility, and foster trust between investors and business owners.

The platform provides key services, including project selection, tailored funding, and mentoring. It also ensures robust data security to protect users' information. Beyond funding, PROXIGAB links entrepreneurs with large companies, financial institutions, and technical partners, both nationally and internationally. Government officials view the platform as a vital step toward economic growth. By driving SME development, creating jobs, and encouraging digital innovation, PROXIGAB is expected to play a central role in diversifying Cameroon's economy.

PROXIGAB is now operational, offering entrepreneurs a direct route to resources and support. The government's investment in the platform reflects its commitment to strengthening small business ideas and fostering youth-led innovation. Over time, the initiative could reshape how startups and investors connect across the country.
