Baden-Württemberg's 2025/26 pitch contest seeks the next big business ideas
Baden-Württemberg has kicked off a fresh round of its Start-up BW Elevator Pitch competition for 2025/26. The contest, now in its twelfth year, searches for the state's brightest business ideas and most driven founders. Regional events will decide who progresses to the annual state finals.
The competition began in 2013 as part of the Start-up BW initiative. It provides a stage for young companies to showcase their concepts and gain expert feedback. To qualify for the state finals, participants must be at least 18, have a viable business plan, and have developed their idea within the last five years. Their business must also be based in Baden-Württemberg.
Regional pitch events act as qualifying rounds. Winners from these local contests move on to the state finals. One recent example is the 'START-UP & GROW REMS-MURR' Regional Cup, where eleven teams presented their ideas. Fibryx GmbH took first place with their sustainable natural fibre composites concept. Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, the state's Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism, congratulated Fibryx GmbH on their victory. The ministry continues to back the competition as part of broader efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship across the region.
The 2025/26 Start-up BW Elevator Pitch will see more regional rounds in the coming months. Successful participants will compete for a spot in the state finals. The contest remains a key opportunity for Baden-Württemberg's emerging businesses to gain visibility and expert input.
