Ayuvya's Shark Tank India Pitch Collapses Over Trust and Transparency Issues

Ayurvedic wellness brand Ayuvya appeared on Shark Tank India Season 5 seeking Rs 1 crore for 0.5% equity. This placed a combined valuation of Rs 200 crore on Ayuvya and its sister brand, ImFresh. The pitch, however, faced sharp criticism from the Sharks over key business and ethical concerns.

The company reported Rs 51.5 crore in revenue for FY24-25 and projected Rs 70 crore for the next financial year. Despite these figures, the Sharks questioned the brand's growth rate and customer retention, calling the metrics unclear.

None of Ayuvya's ayurvedic products had undergone clinical trials, which raised serious doubts. Aman Gupta criticised the quality of their social media advertisements, describing them as poorly executed. Ritesh Agarwal and Gupta also expressed broader concerns about the brand's reliability.

Kunal Bahl declined to invest, emphasising the need for trust in health products. His parting words—'Pehle vishwas banao' (Build trust first)—highlighted the Sharks' unease. Ultimately, Ayuvya left the show without securing any investment.

The pitch ended without a deal, as the Sharks remained unconvinced by Ayuvya's financial transparency and product credibility. The absence of clinical trials and weak marketing further weakened their case, leaving the brand to move forward without Shark Tank backing.
