Axel Springer acquires Bisnow to expand US commercial real estate news dominance
German media group Axel Springer has bought Bisnow, a leading commercial real estate news and events company. The deal expands Axel Springer's footprint in the US and adds to its digital media portfolio. Bisnow will now operate under the newly formed Brew Media Group alongside Morning Brew. Bisnow, founded in 2005, specializes in news, live events, and B2B solutions for the commercial real estate sector. The company hosts over 400 events each year across 47 markets, including the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Over the past five years, it has more than doubled its annual news coverage and expanded from 15 to 28 global markets, adding new locations like London, Paris, and Singapore. Previously owned by New York-based private equity firm The Wicks Group, Bisnow will now join Axel Springer's growing media network. Robert Dippell, CEO of Morning Brew, will also lead Brew Media Group, the newly created parent company for both Bisnow and Morning Brew. Claudius Senst, COO and Executive Board member of Axel Springer, highlighted Gregg Mayer's leadership at Bisnow and confirmed Dippell's appointment as CEO of the new group. Gregg Mayer, Bisnow's CEO, stated that the acquisition by Axel Springer will accelerate the company's growth and open new opportunities. Both Bisnow and Morning Brew will continue to run independently under Brew Media Group. The group also plans to pursue further news and events acquisitions in the US to expand its media offerings. The deal marks Axel Springer's latest move to strengthen its US presence and diversify its digital media brands. Bisnow's global reach and event-driven news model will remain central to its operations under the new ownership. Brew Media Group is set to explore additional news acquisitions to build on its growing portfolio.
