Atlas Swimwear transforms handmade trunks into a luxury fashion brand
Atlas Swimwear has rapidly grown from a personal project into a high-fashion brand. In under a year, the company moved from handmade designs to a storefront in Atlanta’s Phipps Plaza. Founder Davis now plans to expand further, targeting major shopping districts and fashion events. The brand began when Davis crafted 10 pairs of swim trunks for himself and shared photos online. The designs caught attention, prompting him to refine the product. He later teamed up with Jaqui McCarthy in Kansas City to turn his handmade pieces into a manufacturable line.
Atlas Swimwear positions itself as attainable luxury, blending elevated design with practical features. The brand’s playful identity includes a logo inspired by the Greek Titan Atlas. Currently, most customers are men aged 28 to 55, though women’s wear is planned for future collections. Davis has set ambitious goals for growth. He aims to raise $350,000 by 2025 to fund new store openings and fashion week activations. For 2026, plans include a Kansas City pop-up and partnerships with local sports teams to strengthen the brand’s presence.
Atlas Swimwear’s quick rise reflects its blend of quality and playful branding. With expansion plans underway, the company is working to secure funding and establish itself in key retail locations. The goal remains clear: to become a recognised name in luxury swimwear across major shopping districts.
