Arthur Hayes bets big on gold and crypto amid inflation fears
Arthur Hayes has adjusted his investment portfolio with a clear focus on inflation hedges and geopolitical risks. His latest disclosures show a mix of cryptocurrencies, commodity-linked stocks, and physical gold. The changes include a shift away from certain digital assets while increasing exposure to others.
Hayes has reduced his holdings in PENDLE and ENA, depositing 332,226 PENDLE tokens (worth $500,000) to Binance and 3.63 million ENA tokens (also worth $500,000) to Galaxy Digital. At the same time, he has aggressively bought HYPE, adding 96,116 tokens for $3.42 million, bringing his total to 161,271 tokens valued at $5.78 million. On March 25, 2025, he also moved 1,000 ETH (around $1.99 million) to Bybit.
His current crypto holdings are limited to just four assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Zcash, and HYPE. Beyond digital currencies, Hayes maintains a strong position in physical gold, which he views as a safeguard against currency devaluation and economic instability.
In equities, his focus remains on resource-related sectors. He holds shares in mining companies specialising in gold, silver, copper, and uranium. Oil majors and Latin American energy firms also feature in his portfolio, providing geographic diversification. Additionally, he has invested in defence contractors, reinforcing his strategy against geopolitical uncertainty.
The overall structure of Hayes' portfolio signals an expectation of continued inflation and global instability. His allocations—spanning cryptocurrencies, commodities, and defence stocks—reflect a bet on resource repricing and persistent economic pressures. No direct comparisons to his earlier public statements or prior weightings have been provided in the latest data.
