Aquapulse, an Indian aquaculture startup, has secured ₹25 Cr (around $2.7 Mn) in its Series A funding round. The investment, led by NABVENTURES through its AgriSURE Fund, will help build what the company calls India's first fully integrated aquaculture ecosystem. The platform aims to connect farmers directly with buyers while using AI to improve farming efficiency and output quality. The startup focuses on shrimp and fish farming, a sector where shrimp alone accounts for nearly 70% of India's aquaculture export value. Its AI-powered systems monitor water quality, disease risks, and feed usage in real time, ensuring better feed efficiency and harvest quality. Farmers also receive digital expert advice to adopt modern practices.
Aquapulse's app-based tools track water conditions, predict shrimp growth, and manage feeding schedules. This technology stack sets it apart—no other Indian aquaculture company currently combines real-time monitoring, AI-driven harvest predictions, and a direct farmer-buyer marketplace in one platform. The new funding will expand its farmer network to 15,000 across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal. Part of the capital will also establish an in-house processing facility, giving the company tighter control over quality and profit margins.
With the Series A funds, Aquapulse plans to strengthen its AI-led harvest systems and grow its farmer base. The startup's integrated approach—linking technology, direct sales, and processing—could change how India's aquaculture sector operates. The company's next steps include scaling operations and refining its quality control measures.
