Adenia Partners Secures $180M for New African Entrepreneurial Fund

Adenia Partners has closed its first fund in a new investment line, raising $180 million. The Adenia Entrepreneurial Fund I (AEF) targets small and mid-sized companies across Africa. This marks the firm's seventh fund since its founding in 2002, bringing total capital raised to over $1 billion.

AEF is designed for control investments in lower mid-cap African businesses. The fund has drawn support from a mix of backers, including development finance institutions (DFIs), European family offices, and African asset allocators. Its focus extends beyond financial returns, aiming to create jobs, upgrade industrial infrastructure, and cut carbon emissions.

Alexis Caude, managing partner at Adenia Partners, highlighted the fund's confidence in Africa's growing entrepreneurial sector. The Mauritius-based firm has backed promising companies on the continent for over two decades. While the exact number of countries involved remains unspecified, AEF builds on Adenia's long-standing presence in African markets.

The $180 million fund will now deploy capital into small and mid-sized African enterprises. Investments are expected to drive job creation, improve industrial standards, and support gender equality. AEF's closure signals continued institutional interest in Africa's economic development.
