AAVE's V4 Upgrade and Pepeto's $10M Presale Reshape Crypto Trends

Two major developments have shaken the crypto market this week. AAVE launched its latest upgrade, securing billions in contracts, while Pepeto’s presale raised nearly $10 million ahead of a Binance listing. Both moves highlight shifting trends in decentralised finance and meme coin investments.

The upgrades and funding rounds come as AAVE’s price remains far below its peak, despite strong adoption in DeFi lending. AAVE rolled out its V4 upgrade on Ethereum, introducing a new hub and spoke system for better risk management. The platform now holds $25 billion in locked contracts. Within hours of the launch, AAVE froze markets after the $292 million KelpDAO bridge exploit, safeguarding its locked value.

Currently, AAVE trades at $92.48, an 86% drop from its 2021 all-time high of $666. Analysts remain divided on its future. Coinpedia predicts a potential high of $650 by 2026, while Cryptopolitan sets a more conservative best-case target of $200 by mid-year. Most forecasts place the token between $90 and $130 for May 2026, citing falling open interest and current market levels.

Meanwhile, Pepeto’s presale has drawn significant attention, raising over $9.78 million. Each token sold for $0.0000001868, with staking rewards offering a 175% annual yield. The project promises fee-free swaps via PepetoSwap and a cross-chain bridge for transferring assets without charges. Analysts suggest the token could see gains of 100x or more, especially with a Binance listing on the horizon.

DeFi lending continues to expand faster than expected, even as AAVE’s price struggles to recover. Pepeto’s rapid presale success reflects growing interest in new trading platforms and meme coin ecosystems. AAVE’s V4 upgrade strengthens its position in DeFi, protecting $25 billion in locked funds while adapting to security threats. The token’s price, however, remains well below past highs, with forecasts varying widely.

Pepeto’s presale success and upcoming exchange listing point to strong early demand. Its fee-free features and staking rewards could drive further adoption in the coming months.
