211 Filipino healthcare workers head to Japan in June 2026 deployment
A new group of Filipino healthcare workers is set to leave for Japan next month. The 18th batch, made up of 211 professionals, will depart on June 10 and 11, 2026. They have completed months of training and preparation for their roles abroad. The workers include five nurse candidates and 206 care worker candidates. Before their departure, they finished a six-month Preparatory Japanese Language Training programme. They also attended pre-departure orientations to help them adjust to working in Japan.
Once they arrive, the group will be sent to hospitals and eldercare facilities across the country. The Philippine government will keep track of their progress and offer ongoing assistance during their stay.
This deployment marks another step in the long-running partnership between the Philippines and Japan for healthcare staffing. The workers will begin their assignments shortly after arrival. Authorities will ensure they receive the necessary support while working overseas.
